Proof-of-concept sites

I often come across websites and think "wow, with some minor adjustments you can make this website so much better, easier and more modern." With two sites I tried to make those adjustments, giving myself one or two days to re-design a page and implement it. (only tested in Webkit browsers, Chrome & Safari!)
